A Little Bit About Myself

I am originally from San Antonio, TX. When I was younger I played baseball, soccer, and basketball, but I pretty much hated all three. The one sport I actually wanted to play was football, but my parents didn't want me to play for fear of me getting injured. After I asked over and over again with the answer being “no” every time I just forged my mom's signature and joined the team at school. So in 7th grade I finally got to play football and lacrosse and at that point my love for fitness began!

The School I played for was most definitely not your normal school, I was sent to Texas Military Institute in San Antonio and lived on campus in the dorms from 8th - 12th grade. This helped add some discipline in my life and after graduating I received a scholarship to play football at Ottawa University in Kansas. I made it a month in Kansas and couldn’t take it, Texas truly is the greatest state!

After leaving Kansas I transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University in deep East Texas. Luckily while I was in high school I also played lacrosse so I was able to walk on to the lacrosse team at SFA While there I was a 4 year starter and 2 year team captain for the Lacrosse team and was selected to the All Conference team all 4 years. During my time at SFA, I dropped out after my sophomore year to join the Marine Corps then went back to finish my degree and lacrosse career.

While in the Marines I was a Mortar man and was a section leader, after 6 years I was Honorably Discharged as a Corporal in the USMC. During those 6 years I met some of the best, crazy, fun, fearless, and trustworthy guys I've ever met. We built each other up and pushed each other through everything! This was were I found that wonderful thing called CrossFit... My first WOD was in 2010 and it was Murph, I was hooked! I decided to get my L1 in 2014 and have been coaching since then. I love helping people and pushing people past what they think is possible. The look that people have after achieving what they thought was impossible is the best thing ever and makes it all worth it.

Before coming to Strong I was the head coach at North Dallas CrossFit, a place I hold very close. Since coming here and meeting the staff and you guys as members has opened my eyes to so much greatness! I'm so excited to be a part of the Strong Family and you guys have been so welcoming, I can't wait to see what all you awesome people are capable of and also to see you all PR everything! I know this was pretty much all over the place, trust me it's worse in my head so if you have any questions or just want to chat don't hesitate to come talk!

Thanks for taking the time to read,
Jeff
