Now that everyone has recovered from the dreaded “food coma” on Thursday and have had the leftover pecan pie for breakfast today, lets try and get back on track and talk about using your fitness!
The workout of the day has a movement that will require hanging from the bar and you start to think about putting gymnastics grips on, how you will break up the reps or how to scale them to make for a better workout. We run these things through our head because we’ve experienced something in the past that makes us consider them. Do you ever stop to think about the way you’ll grab the bar though? Will your thumb be over the bar or will it wrap under the bar? Most people don’t think about this and it’s usually because they haven’t been told that there’s a difference between the two.

The Overhead Edition
Here we continue our conversation on lowering weights in the gym and in life. In the last installation we discussed the deadlift and now we will address the do’s and don’ts of reracking weight from overhead back to the shoulders.

Where is your rest muscle and how do you train it? Most of the time people think that working out in the gym every day is the best thing they can do for their health, is this right, is it wrong, does it really make a difference? Well yes, it does! When you look at CrossFit or any sport/training program you can break it down into a triangle and each side of this triangle is very important for our performance in and out of the gym.
